EAKK! for KIDS

Family Love Village (FLV) is a community group based in Los Angeles, that is becoming the foremost model for support of conscious families and caregivers. FLV’s mission is to connect and support families and caregivers locally to learn and practice conscious parenting. Information, resources, and support allow families to develop a gently guided approach to communicating with their children, as well as the ability to make natural, holistic and eco-friendly decisions.

FLV is so excited and honored to bring our EAKK! (EcoArt Kidz Kollectiv!) program to One Love this year! Our FLV program allows everyone to get connected and celebrate life through our series of activities for kids and families.

EAKK! is an eco-interactive environment for children where they can discover and learn the value of creating fun and educational art projects from recycled materials. Our local FLVillagers collect household items, as well as items from schools and restaurants to create eco-friendly art projects for the children that not only prevent junk from going into the landfills and oceans, but helps to broaden the families’ perspective by envisioning "junk" as art!

To learn more about our mission, vision, as well as past and future monthly gatherings, please visit www.familylovevillage.com.
At all times, we strongly suggest at least one parent or caregiver being present with their children. Family Love Village is usually NOT a daycare where parents can drop off their kids. The ONLY time that Family Love Village will be watching children is on Saturday night for the Slumber Party. For the rest of the eco-activities and workshops, we always encourage fun participatory involvement for the family, as a whole. Thank you.

What Is Conscious Parenting? With FLV Leaders, Tangee Veloso, Eva Lea & Sonia Wike~
To some, it could mean being aware of your natural and holistic wellness choices for your family…to some, it could mean doing your best to eat organic and non-processed foods…to some, it could mean creating a parent/child bond that instills partnership in “power with” instead of “power over”…to others, it’s being brave enough to take a stand against traditional parenting and educating themselves on resources and tools that create connection… To FLV, it can be all of the above. Yet it is wherever you are at on your conscious parenting journey and knowing that it is okay and that we're all striving to model the best that we can so that our children can thrive!

Come and join us in this talk to collectively share and support one another on this conscious parenting journey.

11:00AM – 12:00PM
Art Walk and Random Gifting~
We'll gather together and we'll go for a fun art walk. We'll visit the art auction area and will arrange to chat with some of the artists as they are working on their pieces. We’ll also check out some of the the many cool art installations that the festival has to offer. Children and parents will be able to take pictures, make a drawing on the spot and discuss what they like.

Each child will have a special little gift that he or she will make before our walk. He/she will carry this present during the walk and will have the opportunity to gift it to any person she/he feels to (with their parents by their side). In this social modeling, we are giving kids the opportunity to: engage in a random act of kindness without any expectation, building empathy, generosity and portraying kindness as an art.
